Some swing faults are not swing faults.
A TPI Golf Assessment examines how your body moves, generally and inside the golf swing specifically. Your Doctor of Physical Therapy runs you through the Titleist Performance Institute screen, a series of tests built for golfers, evaluating flexibility, balance, strength and range of motion. Dr. Matthew Nelson is Titleist Performance Institute Medical Level 3 Certified.
The point is to separate the two kinds of problem. A technique fault your coach can fix on the range, and a physical limitation no amount of lessons will change. If your hips will not rotate, the swing will find a way around them, and that workaround is usually what hurts. The screen finds mobility restrictions, muscular imbalances, postural issues, and the areas already absorbing load they were not built for.
One screen. Three questions answered.
The Screen
You spend about an hour one on one with your Doctor of Physical Therapy going through the TPI tests: movement screens that quantify flexibility, strength and range of motion, on the ground and in golf posture.
What It Finds
Mobility limitations affecting your swing, muscular imbalances and weaknesses, postural issues feeding swing faults, and the areas already prone to injury or overuse.
Your Results
We go through the findings in plain language: what is a body problem, what is a technique problem, and what corrective work comes next. That programming lives on our golf performance page.
