Symptoms that persist have a cause you can treat.
Most of what lingers after a concussion is not the brain injury itself. It is the systems that got knocked out of sync alongside it: a neck that absorbed the same force as the head, a vestibular system that no longer agrees with your eyes, and a body that has lost its tolerance for exertion. Every one of those responds to treatment.
So concussion rehab is hands-on and active. Manual therapy for the cervical spine. Vestibular exercises for dizziness and imbalance. Eye and head movement drills for visual symptoms. A supervised exertion progression that rebuilds tolerance without setting you back. If you are still working out what is driving your symptoms and when you can return, start with concussion management.
What the treatment actually involves.
Cervical and Manual Work
The neck absorbed the same force the head did, and it drives more post-concussion headache and dizziness than most people expect. Hands-on treatment restores the motion and takes the tension out of it.
Vestibular and Oculomotor Retraining
Specific exercises for the inner ear and for eye and head movement, aimed at the dizziness, the visual symptoms and the lost balance. This is the work that makes a busy room tolerable again.
Graded Exertion and Strength
Supervised exercise raised in steps, with strength work to rebuild what the layoff cost you, until you can hold the demands of your sport, your job, or an ordinary day.
