Matt is originally from Santa Maria, CA received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He received his DPT degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado in 2006. He spent three years as an assistant instructor of anatomy and musculoskeletal management at Regis as well as working in private practice in the Denver area before moving to Salt Lake City in 2009.

He has also been an affiliate Faculty Instructor at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions from 2011-2014. Matt was first introduced to trigger point dry needling techniques in 2007 and has been an instructor of the technique since 2009 and is now an instructor for Aspire OMT. He has taught over 75 continuing education courses in his career. When he moved to Utah, he tirelessly spent the from 2009-2014 working with the state of Utah and his professional organization to allow physical therapists to perform trigger point dry needling. It was passed into law in 2014. Because of his efforts, Matt was awarded with the honor of Physical Therapist of the Year in 2014. He has been working in private practice nearly his whole career and has loved partnering with his wife, Jessica, in their own practice, Dynamic Physical Therapy since 2015. Matt obtained his Therapeutic Pain Specialty from the International Spine and Pain Institute in 2018 and his golf rehab specialty with his Titleist Performance Institute Medical 3 Certification in 2023.

Matt enjoys the outdoors, skiing, hiking, camping, golfing, and traveling. Matt is also an avid sports fanatic, you can catch him sporting events throughout the year, regardless of the sport, but especially cheering on the Utah Utes, San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He spends most of his free time with his four children exploring Utah, and spending time with his extended family.
